A quiet companion for one Glean task. Whatever you give it turns into growth, and nothing can wilt, reset or count down.
How it grows
Unrushed hours grow the stem. Every 5 hours logged opens new growth: a pair of leaves, a leaf, a branch, a leaf, and round again.
Milestones are stones, stacked beside the plant. Tap one to read it again.
A ring forms at the end of each week with at least 20 unrushed hours. Quieter weeks still grow the plant.
Insights become flowers where the plant was when you noticed them.
The app always opens at the tip. Scroll down to walk back through everything that grew.
A free, feasible backend for later
Host it as a static web app on Cloudflare Pages or GitHub Pages. Free HTTPS. Add a manifest and service worker so it installs to the Home Screen and works offline.
Keep data local-first in IndexedDB. Store an append-only log of milestone, hours and insight events. The plant is redrawn from that log with seeded randomness, so a year of use is only a few KB.
Add sync only if it's needed. A single events table on the Supabase or Firebase free tier, with sign-in, keeps iPhone and iPad in step. Personal-scale use fits inside their free limits.
Gentle nudges are optional. Web Push works for Home Screen apps on iOS 16.4 and later. A free Cloudflare Worker cron job can send them.
Glean tie-in. Save the Glean task link with each garden. Deeper integration can wait until it's needed.
The sky follows your local time
In the app, rain falls only when it is raining where you are (it asks once to use your location).
This is a front-end mockup. Entries stay in memory and reset when the page reloads.
